In Division One of the Spalding and District Darts League, Tigers C have more or less sealed the league with a 5-4 victory over title chasing Consti A.
It was a night of missed doubles and the result could have gone either way but on the night Consti A started off the better going 1-0 up in the first pairs with Sam Roberts hitting a 180 when Simon Hill and Mark Horspool were sat on a double.
The pairing missed their double and Jason Vines checked out for a 2-0 win and put the Consti 1-0 up.
Chris Fidler and Jack Chilvers then missed a lot of chances to stretch the lead for the Consti but ended up losing 2-0 to Monty Bunn and Colin Hatter.
Consti did go ahead after the doubles thanks to a 2-1 victory for Andy Bingham and Nick Moyses over Ant Richardson and Duncan Hunt.
But Tigers kicked in and won four of the next six games to seal the win.
They started off with wins for Mark Horspool who had a 100 checkout in his victory over Jason Vines and Richardson who beat Fidler.
Roberts then stopped the rot with a 2-0 win over Simon Hill, hitting a 130 checkout in the last leg to win.
At 3-3 both teams needed to win two of the next three games and signs of nerves kicked in.
Hunt put the Tigers 4-2 up with a 180 by beating Chilvers who had a night of double trouble.
Bunn then got the all-important victory with a 2-1 win over Bingham.
Moyses then beat Hatter to make the result 5-4, with a fine 126 checkout in that victory.
There was only one other game in Division One which Ye Olde Abbey won 6-3 against Consti E.
The Abbey went 2-1 up in the pairs, starting strongly with wins from Craig Norbury, Dave Norbury and Scott Lawrence.
Josh Ford then got a win for Consti over Pete Boardman, hitting a 180 in his victory.
This was followed by Dan Gent beating Dean Parker but a final win for Stan Browning gave the Abbey a 6-3 victory.
In Division Two, Pied Calf maintained their 100 per cent record by beating Punchbowl 8-1.
The sole winner for the Punchbowl was Josh Burton, who had a 104 checkout in his 2-1 victory over Harry Faulkner.
Jacob Herd hit a maximum 180 in his victory for the Pied.
The other winners for the Pied were Paul Faulkner, Josh Faulkner, Stu Page, and Charlie Rawding.
Drayman’s B maintained their good season and beat Holbeach Services 6-3.
Drayman’s went 2-1 up after the pairs and then had singles wins for Graham French, Connor Hughes, Shane Thorpe, and Wiggs Harrison.
Singles winners for Holbeach Services were Josh Moyses and Stu Stephens.
Chris Chamberlain and Hughes both hit 180s on the night and Thorpe had a 118 checkout.
