Three week closures on two Spalding roads to begin in next few days

Two roads in Spalding are set to be subject to three week closures starting in the next few days.

Both Woolram Wygate at its junction with Pinchbeck Road and Hawthorn Bank between its junctions with Tavistock Road and Belvedere Close are subject to works by gas company Cadent.

Work on the former is scheduled to being tomorrow (Saturday, April 5).

Hawthorn Bank is due to be closed from Monday (April 7).

Both appear to have been scheduled for the school Easter holidays, though they’re not due to be finished until April 21.

A spokesman for Cadent said: “We make sure the pipes that bring the gas to your home keep you safe, warm and connected.

“We’re replacing the old pipes with new plastic ones which will mean that you’ll be ready for greener gas in the future.

“We’ll have to turn off your gas supply during some of our works and may need access to your home, but our teams on site will be on hand to let you know more information.”

Traffic for both routes are to be diverted along Winsover Road.

Woolram Wygate traffic will be asked to travel also along Monks House Lane, Kings Road and Pinchbeck Road.

The diversion for Hawthorn Bank will also include London Road and St Thomas’s Road.
