Thousands of homes without water after burst main

Thousands of homes in and around Crowland are without water this morning (Saturday) following a burst water main.

Anglian Water say they hope the water supply will be restored by 12 noon today

A water leak has been reported to the company near Broadway in the town while repair works to a water main are also being carried out in nearby Deeping St Nicholas, though that village itself does not appear to be affected by water shortages.

A spokesman for Anglian Water said: “We’re really sorry but some customers in Crowland and the surrounding area may have very low water pressure or no water at all.

“We’ve identified a burst water main in your area that we’re working hard to get fixed, so that we can get your supply back to normal as soon as possible.

“This should be by midday today.”
