Thousands of 7in singles for two-day charity sale

A fantastic donation of thousands of 7in vinyl singles will fundraise for a two-day sale starting Friday.

The records have been donated to Sue Ryder Books And Music Charity Shop in Priory Road, Spalding, by a town man, who has asked us not to name him.

The singles are of every genre from the 50s onwards. They will be £1 each and proceeds will go to the Thorpe Hall Capital Appeal for Sue Ryder’s hospice at Peterborough.

Shop manager Paul Redford said: “This man’s extremely generous offer for us to sell some of his extraordinary collection of vinyl records presents the bookshop with the perfect opportunity to not only highlight the Thorpe Hall Capital Appeal but also to hopefully remind the public that we stock vinyl records.

“Indeed, vinyl sales, particularly over the Christmas period have been very strong and we urgently need more donations.”
