Thomas takes top spot at Tydd Gote Angling Club’s meet at Main Road’s North Level

There was a mixed outcome for those Tydd Gote Angling Club members braving the North Level at Main Road on Sunday.

With odd bream putting in an appearance you can usually rely on Martyn Thomas to entice a fish or two – and so it proved as he attracted two good specimens from peg 19 to take the win with 9lb 10oz.

Archie Greenwood found his compulsory good roach on peg 25 and topped up with some smaller samples for a 6lb 6oz net for second place.

Don Green also found a bream from peg 22, taking his fish on his first put in on his pole line for 4lb 4oz and third place.

Steve Borrett was fourth on peg 10 with a small fish net that weighed 2lb 14oz but then weights nosedived, with the remaining anglers struggling for ounces

Wednesday Open results: 1st Dave Simmonds 9lb 6oz; 2nd John Taylor 3lb 14oz.
