Services A are setting the early pace in the top flight of Spalding and District Snooker League after a third straight win.

Mike Knight, Paul Quincey and John McDowell secured frames to maintain the Spalding side’s 100 per cent start to the season and send them top of the table.
The 4-2 result was Donington C’s first defeat. Jim Thompson and Neil Favell grabbed their wins, but Neil Reynolds had to give scratch player Paul Quincey a 49-point start and found that too difficult to overturn, despite a 37 break. He lost 97-71.

Holbeach D are among the frontrunners after taking four points from the home match with Crowland C.
Dennis Hix had a resounding 57-5 win over fellow R7 player Mitch Capes.
And Neil Grant put Holbeach D in a commanding position, but Jamie Hunns’ black-ball success against Ian Woodberry and Richard Wesley’s win set up a tight finish.
However, the home side took the overall win when Donald Monk (O7) beat Jamie Beeken (O14) by 20 points.

The Division Two clash between Services’ C and B sides saw father and son Kev and Craig Fitter pitched against each other.
And it was dad who took the spoils after starting with a 49-point advantage.
Craig managed a 36 break but was beaten 81-65In a tight match, wins for Nigel Cherry – in a black-ball game against Ted Howling – and Jordan Philpott – via a respotted black against Paul Doades – helped Services C to a 5-1 success.

Crowland B have made a good start to the season. Two black-ball frames against Pyramid C went their way, one of which was for O21 player Jim Howe, who enjoyed a 41 break.

Meanwhile, Gosberton A’s Andy Ward prevented a clean sweep for Consti H.
Ward saw off Seb Grimston to grab the away side’s solitary match point.

Bourne Snooker Centre A were the league’s only 6-0 winners last week.
Boundary A were on the receiving end, Nic Heywood going closest to rescuing a point for the visitors in a black-ball game with Oliver Player.

Long Sutton D are off the mark for the season, beating Consti B 5-1.
The Spalding side’s point came from Mick Johnson, who gave Paul Turnell a 35-point start but still won 88-43.

An all-Consti affair in Division Three went the way of the C side.
Pat Bowman, John Walker and Chris English were winners in a 4-2 result against the J team, for whom Nev Vickers and Stuart Davies grabbed points.

Consti A are still searching for their first win.
Peter Law and Rob Savic were soundly beaten as Donington D left with four points earned by Jay Kyle, Ken Staples and Alan Stanley.
