Third attack at Cowbit Village Store

Police are investigating a robbery after Cowbit Village Store was hit for the third time in a month last night (Wednesday).

Three men entered the store at around 7.15pm and stole cash, alcohol and cigarettes before leaving the scene in a blue 4×4 with a silver skirt.

Police confirmed that the member of staff at the Barrier Bank shop was shocked but unhurt.

The incident comes just days after a successful community campaign by villagers to raise £3,000 for shutters for the village store after the series of attacks.

The store was first hit on February 19 when around £1,000 worth of alcohol and cigarettes was taken.

This was followed by a second attack on February 27. This time no one got in, but a window replaced after the last attack was damaged and another window smashed, which will cost around £800 in total to repair.

Anyone with information about the recent incident is asked to contact Spalding CID on 101, quoting incident number 404 of March 15.
