This difficult time has seen so many incredible acts of kindness that deserve further recognition.
And the Pride of South Holland Awards would be the best place to do just that.
It’s due to be held at the South Holland Centre on Sunday, June 28.
But organiser Jan Whitbourn says that even if that’s not possible, nominations will be held over until the event can take place.
So get your forms in now!
Jan said: “We all know this event may not happen on this date in June, but be rest assured it will happen this year, so please keep thinking of all those people who you know have done an amazing job, especially at the moment.
“There are many unsung heroes. We would like to hear your truly remarkable stories of bravery and courage about the people who enhance the lives of others through their efforts, maybe just for a few neighbours or perhaps someone who has done so much for South Holland as a whole.
“If you know of a group or someone who deserves recognition someone who has gone that extra mile, who we know should be rewarded for their help, support and kindness; please enter them for a Pride of South Holland award now.
“We, as a community, carry the responsibility of educating the next generation, not only academically as our fantastic schools do this, but education in their social responsibility to the community in which they live, respect for authority and most importantly, team work.
“This is something we are all doing at this crucial time.
“All nominations will be considered by the category sponsors, who will draw up a shortlist of three to go before the judging panel.
“Judging has been scheduled to take place on Monday, June 1, we may extend the date but keep the date in your diary, let’s pray for peace and hope we are all in a better place and we can go ahead with this event.”
