The Quackers walk away with trophy

Friday night saw the final of The Cliff Hall Memorial Shield, held at Donington Snooker Club.

The Quackers beat Pyradon 3-2 in a match which went down to a last frame decider.

Winners for The Quackers were Sean Swinburn, Dan Burt and Stuart Atkin.

Neil Reynolds and James Sharpe, who had a 43 break, took the frames for Pyradon.

Jean Thompson, of the club, said: “There was good snooker played all night, it was a shame someone had to lose.

“On behalf of the Donington Club I would like to thank all the teams who supported us through the competition, it was nice to see old faces and some new ones and I hope to see all of you next year.”

The highest break of the competition went to Mark Gray with an impressive 70 clearance.
