The Butler did it at arts society

The latest meeting of the Spalding Arts and Crafts Society saw a welcome return for Ernie Butler.
He gave a demonstration of a landscape portrait using charcoal.
A spokesman for the club said: “Ernie gave us lots of tips about types of charcoal and how to use them.
“At the meeting we also had one of our occasional Chairman’s Challenges.
“This time it was a monochrome painting.
“There were 15 entries in various styles from members and visitors.
“Our next demonstration will be a Cityscape in Water mixable oils by Norfolk based artist Denise Allen.”
The event takes place at Pinchbeck Village Hall from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Tuesday, April 1.
Entry is £5 for visitors and £3 for members with tea and coffee provided.
The club will also be exhibiting at the Spring Flower and Garden Show in the Springfields Festival Gardens before returning to Spalding Library for its May exhibition.
