Spalding Town Tennis Club have enjoyed a successful week on the court.
Last Sunday they hosted Boston in the men’s National League. With the scores tied at 1-1 after the singles rubbers, the team of Mathew Pearl and Ian Argent paired up for the doubles to clinch the tie.
In the Peterborough and District League, Spalding A were 6-3 home winners over Castor. Jack Howard, Dominic Layton Hannam, Ben Brittain, Adam Freeman, Hayden Bingham and Noah Freeman made up the team.
Spalding B, represented by Carl Newell, Mathew Pearl, Ian Argent, Michael Pearl, Martin Perkins and John Farrow, also won 6-3 in Division Two against Stamford.
Spalding C, meanwhile, travelled to Deeping in Division Two and suffered a 7-2 defeat. Steve Knight, Leo Rahman, Lucinda Layton Hannam, Harry Vickers, Ian Brookes and Joe Brookes were the team.
Finally, Spalding D beat Railway 5-4 at home in Division Three with Hannah Willis, James Stamp, Martin Brittain, Millie Brittain, John Lee’s and Sarah McCormack on court.
