Task force helps town bloom

Staff at a Lincolnshire business have helped a town’s bid to be the blooming best this year.

Lincolnshire Co-Op’s Community Task Force offered to help Long Sutton In Bloom ahead of the judges visiting later this year.

They were asked to help clear out the area around Pop Bottle Bridge in Long Sutton.

Chair of Long Sutton in Bloom Kay Jenkinson said “The planted area at Pop Bottle Bridge had become seriously overgrown including some dead trees, making the job quite daunting.

“With the Co-Op’s team we were able to tidy up the whole area in just one session.

“The Bloomers are so grateful to Rox Croot and her Co-Op colleagues.”

Long Sutton In Bloom’s big ‘plant up’ is approaching during which they will be busy with the hundreds of baskets and planters needed to make the town bloom for the summer.

If anyone would like to help them with it, if only for a couple of hours, please contact Kay on 01406 424428.
