Target new things with U3A

Members of Sutton Bridge U3A have been hitting the bullseye by holding archery sessions.

The group aims to encourage people to learn and take up new hobbies.
And one of those is archery with sessions being led by the club’s Paul Milton.
A spokesman said: “Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 29, so why not come to the Memorial Park and have a go?
“Everything is provided and you will have not only a chance to live out your childhood fantasy of being Robin Hood, Little John or even Maid Marian but socialising with likeminded others, having a little light exercise and a good time.”
Other groups put on include table tennis, discussions and dining out.
At the U3A’s next meeting on Tuesday, September 5 at the Long Sutton Market House the guest will be Linda Scholes.
The American came to live in Suffolk with her husband Jim, an Air Force Officer.
A spokesman for the U3A said: “Linda draws on the family’s experiences travelling the world, living in a foreign country, and her own upbringing on a ranch on the Squilchuck Creek in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains near Wenatchee, Washington State.
“Linda’s unique style of storytelling has produced a delightful series of humorous talks suitable for all occasions and all groups.”
Doors open at 1.30pm for a 2pm start.
