Taking the pride to tireless Colin

A Pride of South Holland Awards 2018 winner who couldn’t make the awards ceremony due to his dedication to his shop has been presented with his award at his workplace.

Colin Foxwell was the first-prize winner of the Caring Neighbour award but was working at his Cowbit Village Stores shop.

Pride of South Holland Awards organiser Jan Whitbourn said: “It was such a shame for Colin to miss out on the event so some of us decided to go along and present the award to him personally.

“Colin opens the store at 6am till 7pm at night, six days a week. On Sundays he is open from 6am to 2pm – that’s 86 hours a week and he only shuts on Christmas Day!

“His store has a wide range of offers, including groceries, newspapers, food for everyone including the cats and dogs, and he also offers the facility for dry cleaning.

“Colin is noted for his generosity and always helps out with the locals raffles and the school.”
