Table-topping Tekkers take command after vital victory

Tekkers edged the top-of-the-table Division One clash against You’ve Got No Fans on another top night of action in The Spalding and South Holland Voice six-a-side League on Monday.

Second tier leaders Puyol Pants Down also showed great bouncebackability at Surfleet’s Glen Park, as they put last week’s loss behind them by thrashing in-form Balotellitubbies.

Champions Polishborough kicked off the top flight by jumping to second spot, restoring the old Tekkers/Borough one-two in the process.

The Poles turned over struggling Notinmymum’s Forest 4-2, with the man-of-the-match (MOTM) showing from Polishborough’s Marcin Minczynski the top talking point of the curtain-raising game.

Horse and Groom then snatched their first win since joining the league mid-July, with a fantastic 4-1 hammering of East Europa.
Danny Hunt got MOTM in this game.

Game three saw Evolution pushed all the way in their 3-2 victory over bottom-placed Mirror Signal Malouda. A tight game, with no quarter given by either side, it fell to Danny Andrew to take the game by the scruff of the neck with a MOTM performance.

Next up, The Squad and Univeg Team played out a drab 0-0 draw. Univeg, with their usual stout defending and organised back-line play, cancelled out the usually-effective and prepared midfield of The Squad. Armando Pires was MOTM.

The penultimate game saw a mistake from keeper Daniel Greenacre cause his Simple FC side to lose 2-1 against Pro Ballers in an intriguing tie.Chris Hall took MOTM in this game after impressing match official Richard Wilde.

The finale was the main event, as Tekkers played their game to absolute perfection and beat title rivals You’ve Got No Fans 2-1.

YGNF were left rueing missed chances and loose play and drop down to third with this defeat, just their second of the campaign.
Daniel Bergin was MOTM.

Meanwhile, Division Two leaders Puyol Pants Down beat Balotellitubbies 4-0 to get the second tier action underway. Nick Wright was the main man in this game.

Posh Old Boys and star-man Will Kirkham then made it four straight wins as they beat Nibblesborough FC 4-2 in the second goal-filled game between these two sides.

Sarah’s Boys stay in a promotion spot after easing past a freefalling The TBME 1-0.

The TBME can’t buy a win at the moment and this latest defeat was their fifth on the bounce. Ollie Coulam stepped up to the plate with MOTM this week.

Dynamo Kiev drew themselves level on points with Mail Carters after turning them over 2-0. A second straight win for Kiev and they’ll be hoping it marks the start of a run opposite to that of the first half of the season.

Jacob Gedney was MOTM in this one.

The penultimate game of the second tier was much closer than predicted as Bowlcut Wanderers FC narrowly missed out on a surprise result, going down 2-1 to the hard-working, committed and promotion-chasing BK’s Athletic.

Harry Holland was MOTM in this game.

Division Two wrapped up with probably the most eyebrow-raising game of the night as Tekkerslovakia strolled past a frustrated FC Barnicols 3-0, thanks massively to the MOTM showing from Jamie Wroniak.
