Table-tennis round-up: Slow start to season as only one Shield showdown is completed

The new Spalding and District Table Tennis League season got off to something of a stuttering start last week.

The Moulton Shield served as the curtain raiser – but unfortunately only one match was completed, leaving several fixtures unplayed or forfeited.

Outsiders and JDM were the teams who completed their match on the designated evening. JDM duo Tom Chesworth and new member Alan Ashberry proved too formidable for the Outsiders, who are represented by Keith Davey, Garry Wilkinson and Joe Beadle.

This season sees a slightly different format to the previous year, with one division containing all teams – which should make for some interesting and close matches.

All scheduled matches can be found on the website https://spalding.ttleagues.com/
