Sutton Bridge Golf Club’s popular Seniors’ Open is a big hit again

Sutton Bridge Golf Club’s Seniors’ Open was once again a great success.

Generously sponsored by Leesons Garage of Sutton Bridge, there were entrants from Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk on the day.

The event was played in a Stableford Pairs Better Ball format and the scoring was good on a well-maintained course – despite the challenges of the unusually dry summer.

The winning pair were Derek Wisbey (17) and Danny Daniels (13), from March Golf Club, with 46 points. Second place, after count back went to Mick Wareham (20) and

Graham Smith (14) with 42 points, followed in third place by Richard Titchener (20) and Paul Bilson (19).

There were four nearest the pin prizes on the day, with one on the 172-yard 15th being won by octogenarian Norman Davis.

Generous prizes were awarded and a raffle raised £121 for Stroke Awareness.
