Suspected drink-driver turned out to be playing Pokémon Go

Police pulled over a trawling motorist suspected to be drink-driving – and found him to be playing Pokémon Go.

The Volkswagen Polo driver was stopped in Holland Market in Spalding overnight on Thursday (July 21) and found to be using the smartphone app, which has created a craze across the world.

Spalding Police, who had spotted the car being driven slowly through the town centre, tweeted: “Suspected Drink Driver actually chasing Pokemon.

“He was given suitable words of advice regarding his use of the device and driving and reported for the offence.”

The Voice reported this week on the craze catching on in South Holland.
