Suspected drink-driver arrested after two-vehicle crash in Crowland

A motorist is being investigated on suspicion of drink-driving following a crash which saw another motorist seriously injured.

It happened on the B1166, Hulls Drove, Crowland, at 4.45pm last Friday, leading to a two-hour closure of the road.

A 43-year-old from the Peterborough area was taken to Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital under arrest and later “released under investigation” – a new process now used instead of police bail, except in certain circumstances.
A 47-year-old local female driver was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with serious injuries.

The collision involved a white Seat Leon and grey Audi A6.

Police are appealing for witnesses to either the collision or the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to it, to contact them via 101 quoting incident number 319 of June 16.
