Paul Edgeller and Barry Stanway both took five wickets to guide Long Sutton 1st to a resounding ten-wicket win over Stamford in South Lincs and Border League Premier Division on Saturday.
Sutton aces Edgeller (5-16) and Stanway (5-9) took all ten wickets to skittle Stamford out for just 28, before knocking the runs off comfortably.
Rain washed out most of the other South Holland fixtures, with Moulton Harrox 1st, Long Sutton 2nd, Pinchbeck and Moulton Harrox 2nd all falling foul of the weather.
Spalding 2nd’s game against Grantham 2nd was on – but they were soundly beaten. Second-placed Town were all out for 61 chasing 177-5 thanks to 76 from Matthew Wing and 66 from Josh Mihill.
There was also a ten-wicket defeat for Spalding 3rd, who were skittled out for just 40 by Grantham 2nd.
