Super Seas End Hall back on winning form

Easton-On-The-Hill (146) lost to Seas End Hall (150-7) by 3 wickets

Seas End Hall got back to winning ways in Rutland League Division five with a gutsy three-wicket win at Easton-On-The-Hill.

Captain Tom Wilson won the toss and invited the home team to bat first – but it looked a bad call when Barry Hancock (45) and Sam Deprisco (53) took the team to 95.

The breakthrough came via the cultured swing bowling of Paul Foreman (4-29) – and from then on Easton’s depth of batting was soon exposed as the remaining eight wickets fell for just 51 runs.

League debutant Mark Law finished on 4-39 from his guilish leg spin attack, with Easton all out for just 146.

An early duck for Lewis Martin hit Hall’s reply, but a swish 24 from Dave Venables and a steady captain’s inning from Wilson (31) set the perfect platform for Rod Parsons (39), Rob Sexton (16), Joe Broomfield (7no) and Law (4no) to seal a 16-point Sunday haul.
