Sunday round-up: Mont Pell glory for Jubilee after dramatic shoot-out

Jubilee lifted the Spalding and District Sunday League’s Mont Pell Trophy after beating Mulberry in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

The clash finished 1-1 at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field on Sunday, with Laurence Price netting for Jubilee.

They then won the shoot-out 4-3, with Scott Britton, Jack Wycherley, Simon Hall and – crucially – Jason Chilvers all scoring from the spot to give Paul Rudkin’s side a memorable victory.

This Sunday sees Jubilee return to league action with a home game against Punchbowl Tigers at Monkshouse Lane (10.30am).

Mulberry also face South Holland United Clarets FC at the same venue (also 10.30am).

The Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field is also playing host to another final, with Holbeach United Sunday facing Sutton Bridge Sunday in a heavyweight Knockout Cup final (10.30am).

  • Sutton St James went down 5-3 against CSKA Reserves in Division Two of King’s Lynn and District Sunday League.

Shaun Dickerson led the way with a superbly-taken hat-trick for CSKA and was backed up with goals from Connor Ratcliffe and Jake Miller.

Sutton threatened an upset but never quite managed the comeback.

Michael O’Cock bagged two for them, with Adam Groves netting the other.
