Sunday football: Mulberry hit seven to go top, Jubilee beaten in North Sea cracker

Seven-up Mulberry climbed to the top of the Spalding and District Sunday League Division One table in style over the weekend.

The Spalding side thrashed basement boys Kirton Town 7-1 at Monkshouse Lane playing field, with striker Marcus Parry leading the way with a four-goal haul.

Joel Newton also found the net, as did Ant Murphy – who is better known as a goalkeeper.

An own goal rounded off the rout, while Ashley Davis got the Kirton goal.

Also on winning form in the top flight were North Sea United, who defeated Jubilee 5-4 in a cracker.

Morgan Randles (3) and Rob Masters (2) did the damage for North Sea, while Chris Beale (2), Danny Maddison and Jamie Casey replied for Paul Rudkin’s outfit.

Meanwhile, CSKA eased to a 5-2 win at eight-man Woodman’s Cottage in the League Knockout Cup.

Ryan Brazil, Kensey Carter and Harley Kitching were all sent off for Woodman’s, who scored through Dan Hempson and Kai Scott-Henson.
