Sunday football: Duo hit trebles in Jubilee romp, Tydd still seeking first point

Chris Taylor and Martin Sandall both bagged hat-tricks as Jubilee thrashed Fosdyke 10-2 in the Spalding and District Sunday League.

Further goals from Louis Steadman (2), Robbie Relf and Tom Elderkin also netted in the Monkshouse Lane thrashing, as Jubilee made it three wins from four matches.

That win leaves Jubilee second, six points behind leaders Holbeach United Sunday – who thrashed hosts Cowbit Athletic Bulls 6-1.

Ash Wilson hit a hat-trick for Tim Cole’s side, while Jonathan Warfield, Josh Ford and Gary Chappell also notched.

That victory makes it a perfect five from five for the defending champions, who already have a goal difference of 32.

Callum Wiley got Athletic’s consolation at Cowbit Playing Field.

Aintree, meanwhile, are third in the standings after picking up a 2-1 home success over Mulberry.

Subs Scott Beals and Ryan Howard fired them to victory at Monkshouse Lane to make it two wins from two for the league newboys.

  • Tydd St Mary are still looking for their first King’s Lynn and District Sunday League DIvision Two point of the season after losing a 6-4 thriller against Ingoldisthorpe.

The Saints goals were scored by Jamie Powell, Nathan Thorpe and a brace from Rhys Nichols.

Ingoldisthorpe secured their second win of the season with goals from Tommy Littlewood, Ash Woodhouse and four from David Cordy.

At the other end of the Division Two table, leaders Southery ASA increased their lead at the top of the table with a resounding 12-0 thrashing of Long Sutton Sunday.

There were hat-tricks from Matt Weeds, Danny Brooke and braces from Lee Maplesdon and Robert Eves, with additional goals from Josh Bacon and Ollie Martin completed the scoring.

Sutton St James, meanwhile, suffered a 4-2 home defeat against West Lynn.

Matthew Prudence scored a double for St James, but they were sunk by strikes from from Jack Brand (2), Jack Douglas and Ash Smith.

Up in Division One, Sutton Bridge United’s clash with Chilvers was cancelled.

They return to action at CSKA Emneth this Sunday (10.30am).
