Summer scheme’s cooking

A charity’s bid to provide meals throughout the summer holidays in Holbeach is on course with help from a town charity and local businesses.

Holbeach Community Larder wants to remove the stigma of going to food banks by giving tokens to children who are entitled to free school meals.

Brunch Box, Central Fish Bar, Darci’s Sandwich Bar, Shoestring Cafe and Tiger Roll are all taking part in the initiative this year.

And it’s been backed by a £500 donation from Holbeach charity Chosen Again

A spokesman for Holbeach Community Larder said: “Local schools have helped us to identify those children most in need and they will be able to use their tokens throughout the school holidays at participating businesses.”
