Sudden death of fitness fan Scott

Tributes have been pouring in for a South Holland gym co-owner who died suddenly.

Scott Miller (43) collapsed at Heroes Gym which he launched with business partner Vernon Gay in 2014.

The pair had been instrumental in bringing the Mr Lincolnshire competition to Spalding for the first time just last month.

Scott, who leaves a widow Rachael, was long-associated with the world of fitness training and had previously worked in Portugal as personal trainer, bouncer and bodyguard.

He is believed to have collapsed while taking a boxing class at Heroes, in Edison Court off Enterprise Way, Pinchbeck, at around 3.15pm.

The emergency services, including the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, were called to the scene, but nothing could be done to save Scott, who originally came from Scotland.

The Facebook page for Heroes Gym has been packed with messages of sympathy for his family and friends this week.

“Might have been built like a giant, but as gentle as a lamb. You will be sadly missed,” said Amanda Stoffel.

“Just so hard to believe this big man with an even bigger heart and character has gone,” said James Thompson.

Scott and Vernon had brought the Mr Lincolnshire contest to Spalding’s South Holland centre in September after it had been held in Sleaford for many years.
