Successful festival raises £9,592.57 for academy

More than £9,000 was raised for the new Holbeach United Community Sports Academy thanks to the First Holbeach Music and Beer Festival.

Event organiser Sean Taylor said: “I wanted to create a great family fun weekend for the local community to enjoy complete with attractions including Roger Tuby Funfair, inflatables, outdoor games, hot food vendors, ice-creams, crazy golf course, 36 real ales and 17 live bands performing over the three days on a professional stage.

“I was overwhelmed with the response. The first festival attracted over 2,500 people, making this one of the biggest events Holbeach has ever seen.

“The planning and preparation kept me busy all year but when you hand a cheque over for £9,592.57 it is very satisfying knowing this fantastic amount of money will benefit the youth football teams and the new academy facilities.

“We smashed it Holbeach, well done!

“Thank you to everyone for supporting and attending Music and Beer Festival and special thanks to all the sponsors, contractors, live bands, staff, friends and family who dedicated your time over the weekend. I really appreciate your efforts and it could not have happened without you all.”
