Strong Brand proves inspirational

There was some nice weather at last for the Spalding Cycling Club ten-mile time trial.

Fourteen riders took to the Pode Hole course and there was a familiar face back at the top after missing the previous week.
Dominic Brand put in a strong ride to take victory in 21:08 but had to battle hard with the previous week’s winner Frazer Wallis hard on his heels, getting every closer, with 21:25.
Third place brought a smile to everyone with Chris Ward (21:57) finding his form after a injury-laden start to the season, beating Matt Chappell by a whisker (22:03).
Club chairman Andy Bowser, returning from a break, rounded out the top five.
Evgeniya Brand took another win in the ladies class with 25:10, leading home Samantha Briffett and young gun Scarlett Ward.
