A Spalding street is being monitored for fly-tipping and early presentation of rubbish after numerous complaints.
Two people have been fined for the offences on Ayscough Avenue and Crocus Walk with South Holland District Council’s Enviro-Crime Team visiting regular.
Couns Mark Le Sage and David Ashby say they’ve launched a campaign in their St Mary’s ward to deal with it.
And Coun Le Sage raised the matter at last week’s meeting of the council.
Portfolio holder for public protection Coun Anthony Casson responded: “Education letters have gone out to Ayscough Avenue and Crocus Walk.
“Enviro-Crime officers are now attending the site to check for regular presentation of waste and evidence of offenders.
“Fixed penalty notices will be issued if evidence has been found. Two FPNs have been issued in that location, one for leaving rubbish and driving off and another for putting waste out early.
“We’re working with waste services and they’re doing an additional clearance on Fridays.
“Black bags are collected there on Friday and green on Tuesday so on a Monday there shouldn’t be anything there when they go and inspect.
“This is a complex problem to solve and requires changes of behaviour in the area of a number of residents to ensure a long term improvement but I must say it’s helping.”
Coun Le Sage said: “We appear to be making headway but several residents have told us that this has been going on for over 14 years.”
