Ben Wilson continued his pre-season testing schedule at Donington Park on Tuesday as he prepares for the new British Superbike championship campaign.
Riding the all-new Gearlink Kawasaki Superbike , Kirton racer Wilson took part in a number of sessions around the international circuit – but made frequent visits to the pits for adjustments.
He said: “Testing is precisely that, it’s not a race as to who can put up the fastest lap. This is a new venture for my team and we expect to encounter some niggling problems as we have no data from previous outings at Donington.
“The guys have worked day and night to get the bike up and running and everything is going more or less to plan. We just put the bike through its paces and gave the boys in the garage the feedback.
“We have another test next week at Snetterton and then it’s straight into the first round at Brands Hatch at Easter so we have to get as much of the groundwork done as possible prior to that.”
The first round of the British Superbike championship takes place at Brands Hatch on the short Indy circuit over the Easter weekend. The Friday is devoted to testing, while Saturday will see Wilson out for the first two of three free practice sessions.
The third of those is on Sunday, prior to the three stage qualifying laps on Sunday afternoon. There is a short warm-up on Monday morning in preparation for the two Superbike races later in the day, when Wilson and the Gearlink Kawasaki team will make their debut in the series.
