Still only one confirmed coronavirus case in Lincolnshire

There remains just one confirmed case of coronavirus in Lincolnshire following a report a case had been confirmed in Spalding.

Public Health England told The Voice it is not revealing whereabouts in the county the single case, which was revealed at the weekend, is based.

It follows reports elsewhere that a case had been reported in Spalding but recorded as Peterborough due to the PE cost code which covers a large area from Skegness to King’s Lynn and Sandringham in Norfolk and Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire.

However a spokesman for Public Health England has told The Voice today (Wednesday), that no cases had been recorded in Peterborough and the number of cases in Lincolnshire remains at one. Only one case has also been confirmed in Cambridgeshire.

A case listed as being in Peterborough is not from the authority area, Public Health England said though they could not say where the person was.

The spokesman confirmed that currently their remained only one confirmed case in Lincolnshire as of Wednesday lunch time.

Nationally 456 patients in the UK had tested positive for the virus as of 9am this morning out of the 27,476 people tested.

The updates of cases locally had not been updated as of 4pm today (Wednesday).
