Start the year with Singers

If your new year’s resolution involves finding a new voice, the South Holland Singers have an offer for you.

The choir is hosting a Come and Sing With Us event at Spalding Baptist Church from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, January 10.

It will be led by musical director Samantha Graper and aims to demonstrate in a relaxed and friendly setting, the many benefits of singing with like-minded people.

The event is free and refreshments will be served.

The audience will be invited to join in or simply listen.

“The idea is to encourage people who enjoy singing but have perhaps felt, for a variety of reasons, that choirs aren’t their ‘thing’, to give it a go,’ a spokesman said. “There are no auditions and although an ability to read music is an advantage, it is not a requirement.

“We’re welcoming and friendly!”

The choir usually meets on Thursday evenings during the autumn and spring terms from 7.30pm to 9pm at the baptist church.
