Star man Stanberry hits four

Only two local teams managed to beat Storm Darragh in the GCE Hire Fleet Peterborough League.

Crowland Town Reserves came close in Division Two before the conditions prevailed and they were forced to abandon their match at home to Leverington Sports Reserves in the second half with the scores tied at 2-2. Daniel Ireland and Xennon Paul got the hosts’ two equalisers.
In Division Four, the only storm blowing was on the scoresheet where Long Sutton Athletic Reserves and Whaplode Drove Rovers Reserves shared a 4-4 draw. Aron John, Lee Still and substitutes Jack Greenacre and Jamal Nyang got the home goals with Rob Hitchcock (2), Michael McGowan and William Knight striking for Rovers.
There were also four goals for Moulton Harrox Reserves, but this time it brought victory as they saw off Leverington Sports A 4-1. Ryan Stanberry was the star of the show, scoring all four.
n The wet and windy weather put paid to both Holbeach United and Pinchbeck United’s Thurlow Nunn League matches.
