Saracen’s Head teenager Ben Stafford will once again compete in the Pirelli National 600 Superstock Championship this season.
Stafford, who impressed at the back end of last season, will continue his ride with the Silicone Engineering team aboard a Kawasaki ZX6R machine.
Having joined the 2014 series half-way through the campaign, he used the available rounds left to learn his trade – and by the end of the year the results were apparent.
As well as racing, Stafford now has a job with Silicone Engineering as a mechanic.
He prepares all of the team’s bikes for the other team riders who compete in the road races – which includes the famous Isle of Man TT.
With the winter behind him and training hard to get leaner and fitter, the team set off for winter testing in the Circuit of Cartagena in Spain in March – and after five days some significant improvements were made and the South Holland ace returned home happy with the bike.
He also got some valuable track time last Thursday at the official BSB test session for all the riders at Donington Park.
Round one is at Donington Park over this weekend, with Stafford joined on the grid by returning Kirton’s Aaron Clarke.
The Team ACR Kawasaki racer badly injured his arm at Knockhill last year, so his return to competitive action is a big moment for the teenage talent.
Clarke is keen to progress this year and has enjoyed a solid close-season of testing, which also culminated at Donington last Thursday.
