Stableford success for leading trio

V SPORT

Top trio Elaine Hancock, Dianne Platt and Pat West won Spalding Golf Club’s Lady Captain’s Day competition amid an excellent turnout at the Surfleet course.

With the best two scores counting, score of 79 points was good enough to seal their success.
Another prize on offer – the nearest the pin on the ninth hole – was won by Angela Roper.

The Spalding ‘B’ team earned an impressive 3-1 triumph as they hosted a match against Carholme on July 4.
Wins came from Avril Norton and Paula Brown (3&1), Barbara Newcombe and Paula Brown (3&2) and Debra Ward and Sue Dewar (4&3), while Anne Ellis and Jean White lost two down.

The Greta David Stableford competition was won by Elaine Hancock with 38 points.
Second spot went to Maureen Norman with 36 points, ahead of Anne Ellis (also 36 points).
