Spotlight on ‘brain’ food

The biggest grower of celeriac in the country was in the spotlight when he appeared on BBC’s Countryfile at the weekend.
Julian Perowne, head of Jack Buck Farms at Moulton Seas End, shared his love of the root vegetable during a focus on Lincolnshire last Sunday.
“When we first saw celeriac we thought ‘wow, this is ugly,” he told the show.
“It looks a bit like a brain,” he added.
His enthusiasm for the crop they started growing in 1986 is clear.
“We had no idea it would grow to be as big as it has been,” he added.
From two acres in 1986, the business has grown to 500 acres and the biggest grower in the country.
