Spalding United given home FA Cup tie with FC United of Manchester or Buxton

Spalding United have been handed an exciting home draw with either FC United of Manchester or Buxton in the fourth qualifying round of The Emirates FA Cup.

Should the Tulips beat Sporting Khalsa in tomorrow night’s replay at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field (7.45pm), they’ll host the tie on October 24.

They would ideally hope to be up against FC United, who command a sizeable crowd each week in the National League North and are one of the best-supported clubs in the draw.

Buxton, meanwhile, are fifth in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division. The pair replay on Wednesday night.

Should Spalding beat Sporting Khalsa, they’ll bank £7,500 in FA prize money – and if they could go one better and win the fourth qualifying round tie, they’ll land £12,500 and a coveted place in the first round proper.
