Abbi Pulling was back on the podium at Thruxton over the weekend as her impressive exploits in F4 British World Championship continued.
Teenager Pulling, who is from Gosberton, qualified an impressive sixth (0.191secs off pole) in a session that saw Fortec’s Oliver Gray set a new lap record.
Peruvian ace Matias Zagazeta took the win in race one, but was later given a penalty that saw him demoted to second behind Gray.
There were, however, the only two racers ahead of South Holland star Pulling, who completed the podium with a fantastic third position.
The JHR racer rose through from the third row to complete the podium, but was initially under post-race investigation for an incident at Club. After an attempted pass on the outside of JHR team-mate McKenzy Cresswell the lap prior,
Pulling was eventually able to annex the position on the inside on lap eight.
From there, her pace was quicker than race leaders Zagazeta and Gray, but the 18-year-old ultimately ran out of time to close the gap and attempt a pass.
Race two, the reverse grid fare, wasn’t quite so great for Pulling – although she did briefly hit the front before a collision with eventual winner Joel Granfors saw her drop back to 11th.
The final race of the weekend, again won by Gray, saw Pulling back in tenth spot. That leaves her eighth in the overall standings on 97 points.
