Speedy Josh sets the pace

Josh Wallis was close to breaking the Spalding Cycling Club ten-mile Time Trial League record as he topped the leaderboard at round two in style last week.

Wallis clocked a time of 20.10mins to finish a huge 1.43mins clear of second-placed Neil Palmer.

His time was just 15 seconds shy of the record set by guest rider Michael Gill last August.

Bryn Richards (Team OnForm) was third with a time of 22.33mins, while the returning Kieran Buffham clocked 22.54 to take fourth.

The top five was completed by Frazer Wallis in 23.45mins.

* Spalding’s introductory Saturday club rides have resumed meeting every Saturday morning at Monkshouse Lane playing field (9am, towards the scout hut).

The rides average 14mph and are between 35-40 miles in distance.

Anyone wishing to join is welcome to come along and learn to ride in a group with the club’s experienced ride leaders.
