Spalding’s Winsover Road closed around railway crossing

Spalding’s Winsover Road is closed to vehicles around the railway crossing this morning (Friday July 11).

It’s not part of the scheduled closures of maintenance which have taken place recently, the last of which is scheduled to be from 8pm tomorrow (Saturday July 12) to 7am Monday.

There were reports the barrier was stuck down last night and police had to divert traffic.

This morning the barrier is open and the crossing seemingly working fine, but vehicles are not being allowed to go through.

As of 9.15am, there’s currently no one working on the site which remains open to pedestrians.

It’s led to congestion around the town this morning.

The Voice has contacted Network Rail for a comment.
