Spalding United young gun Lockie earns trial with Leicester City

Talented Spalding United teenager Jonny Lockie has earned a trial with Premier League side Leicester City.

Lockie, who has been banging the goals in for the Tulips’ under-18 and Reserves sides this season, recently made his debut for the first team.

His trial with The Foxes will take place around Christmas time – and the 16-year-old admits that he’s excited by the opportunity.

Lockie said: “It’s a really good opportunity for me to progress as a player and it’s one of those things you just can’t turn down.”

Striker Lockie represented Crowland Town, Pinchbeck United and Holbeach United at youth level before joining Spalding. He’s highly-regarded at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.
