Spalding United under-12s are the new invincibles

Spalding United under-12s completed a perfect league season by seeing off hosts Stanground YFC under-12s 5-0 on Sunday.

Toby Woolsey tapped the ball home from a corner to put the young Tulips ahead, before Ryan Thomas won and converted a penalty to make it 2-0.

It was soon 3-0 when Dylan Evans sweetly struck a half-volley into the roof of the net from 20 yards.

Spalding started the second half as they did the first and continued to dominate play.

Evans soon scored his second after good play allowed him the chance to fire a low drive into the corner of the net.

Thomas then fired an effort off the post, before grabbing his second following smart combination play with Evans.

The win ensures that Phil Woolsey’s Spalding side finish the season with an immaculate 100 per cent record in the league, as they celebrate winning the title and securing promotion.
