Spalding United Ladies reach first final

In their first season in football, Spalding United Women are into their first ever cup final.

A 3-1 victory over Cambridge Rangers on Saturday put them into the final of the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup.

Tara Parker gave the Tulips a tenth minute lead and Constance Onyinah doubled that ten minutes later to put Spalding in the driving seat.

Rangers responded through Daniella Lewis before the break but Onyinah made sure of the Tulips’ progress with a third ten minutes from time.

The Division One side will play Division Two Ely City in the final who beat Newmarket Town Development 2-0 who Spalding visit this Sunday.

Tulips: Foster, King, Gomes, Biggadike, Nieburg, Podd, Vayro, Jrajewska, Richards-Reeves, Parker, Onyinah. Subs: Fosyth, Goodwin, Hill, Smith.
