Both Spalding United and Holbeach United enjoyed impressive wins on the road on Saturday as they bounced back from recent defeats in style.
The Tulips cruised to a fantastic 4-0 victory over hosts Sheffield FC in Evo-Stik NPL First Division South, while the Tigers enjoyed a 2-0 FA Vase triumph at Coventry Copsewood.
Goals in the first half from Jordan Lemon and Cenk Acar (2) put Spalding 2-0 up at the break, before new signing Conor Higginson and Acar rounded off the rout in the second half.
The win sees Spalding hold on to second place in the table, with Shaw Lane AFC still four points clear at the top.
As for Holbeach, second-half strikes from Jordan Thomas and Jake Clitheroe sealed their passed to the next round against a Copsewood side that are struggling in Midland League Division One.
Down in the ChromaSport PDFL, an Ollie Maltby hat-trick fired Pinchbeck United to a 6-0 PFA Senior Cup success against Leverington Sports.
Tom Panton, Tony Edwards (penalty) and Liam Ogden got the other goals.
Moulton Harrox saw their game at Wisbech Town Reserves in the same competition abandoned due to a nasty injury to home player Stuart Brown (suspected broken leg).
Plenty more football in Thursday’s Spalding Voice and online throughout the week.
