Spalding Town back on top after emphatic victory over title rivals Deeping 2nd

Spalding Town stormed back to the top of the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division with a nine-wicket victory at rivals Market Deeping 2nd on Saturday.

Forced to bowl first, Town limited their hosts to 145-9 at Outgang Road, but were left frustrated by their inability to bowl Deeping out.

That target proved no trouble for Spalding and their explosive batting line-up, with Hafiz Majeed (80 not out) and Warren Nel (54 not out) firing them to 149-1 and 16 match points.

Rob Ambrose’s side are now 12 points ahead of Deeping, but they have played a game more.

Down in Division One, Jack Barnett cracked an amazing 121 not out as Moulton Harrox thrashed Timberland by 102 runs.

His unbeaten ton steered Moulton to 211, with Timberland all out for 108 in reply.
