Spalding tip will re-open on May 18

Spalding’s tip will join those across the county in re-opening on May 18, initially for garden waste and wood only.

As previously reported, those wishing to attend will have to pre-book and there will be a number of conditions.

Slots will be able to be booked from 10am on Monday (May 11) onwards at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/clickandtip

You’ll be able to dispose of cardboard from June 1.

Coun Eddy Poll, executive member for Waste and Recycling at Lincolnshire County Council, explains: “At 10am on 11 May, we will be releasing just over 39,000 slots for the next two weeks to allow county residents to access our 11 household waste recycling centres.

“Due to social distancing guidelines and requests from the public, we will be reopening in phases, so from May 18 to 31 it will be only garden waste and wood and from June 1 onwards only garden waste, wood, scrap metal and cardboard

“This will be reviewed regularly, and as soon as we are able, we will accept other waste types.

“There are a number of restrictions in place, including vehicle sizes and number of times you can access the sites. Residents must also bring ID and proof of address. This is to ensure we can be operate a fair and safe system.

“We know the website will be exceptionally busy – so please be patient. New slots will be released daily.

“I’d remind residents that if they don’t have a booking – please don’t just turn up as you won’t be allowed in.

“We are grateful for your patience, and by working together we can safely restore this much needed service.”
