Race ace Liam Warren firmly erased the memory of an early-season crash by roaring to a hat-trick of race wins at Cadwell Park.
Spalding speedster Warren, who races a Triumph 675 bike with Thunder Sport GB in the 600 Pre-national Sportsman class, won every race he finished at the Louth circuit.
Warren arrived at Cadwell in tenth place in the championship following a big crash at Brands Hatch – which took the first three rounds to get the bike right again. However, he showed signs of being back to his best by qualifying in pole position for the first of two races on the Sunday.
With conditions dry and ideal for racing, Warren got off to a great start and held the lead all way through the race, increasing his advantage every lap before taking the chequered flag as winner with a good 6.3secs lead.
Race two saw Warren produce a copycat performance. Again, he got off to a strong start and led the race from start to finish – even enjoying a 6.3secs gap from the rest.
With rain added to the mix on Monday, an electrical fault saw Warren only manage two practice laps in damp conditions before he was forced to pull off the circuit. Although his machine was cutting out, he was cleared to race after a check over revealed no serious issue.
However, the bike cut out on the warm-up lap and Warren was forced to watch the race from the sideline.
He was back on winning form in an eventful final race, though. A big crash at the start saw a red flag, but Warren recovered from a spin to charge through the field and win by 5.4 secs.
The trio of wins moves him up to fourth in the championship ahead of the next round at Amatory Park.
Warren thanks his sponsors Wheels Motorcycles Peterborough, South Lincs Leisure Caravan Sales, Bemoto, Amici Restaurant (Spalding), Putoline UK, Shoei Helmets UK, Pure Triumph (Woburn) and Sportsbikeshop for their continued support.
