Spalding shootings: Brothers’ thanks as online appeals top £4,000

Brothers Luke and Ryan Hart have thanked the public for the emotional and financial support since the shooting tragedy in Spalding.

It follows the completion of two online donations sites, one started by Luke and Ryan and the other by long-time family friend Kate Haynes.

The men’s mum Claire and sister Charlotte were fatally wounded when shot by their father Lance, who then killed himself.

The July incident in the car park of the swimming pool at the Castle Sports Complex led to a public outpouring of shock and grief.
Claire was a popular member of staff at Morrisons in Pinchbeck and Claire was on a midwifery course at university, having left Spalding High School last year.

Luke and Ryan said: “The memorial site c.hart.muchloved.com raised £2,398.10 for the Wood Green animal charity. The Wood Green animal charity have expressed their sincere thanks and kindly offered to install a plaque in their memorial garden in memory of Charlotte and mum.

“The JustGiving site created by Kate Haynes raised a total of £1,789.58 (after removing JustGiving fees). This will be used to contribute towards funeral costs and to set up a memorial to Charlotte at the High School and to mum at Morrisons.

“We would like to say thank you for everyone who has contributed and helped us over the past couple of months. The generosity and compassion that we have been offered is invaluable in our circumstances.”

The family home was in Hatt Close, Moulton.
