Spalding RFC conclude wretched campaign with elusive victory

Spalding RFC avoided the unwanted accolade of going an entire league campaign without a win as they triumphed 23-19 at Belgrave on the final day of the season.

Town’s Saturday success ends a run of 25 Midlands One East defeats on the bounce – and is their first competitive win since seeing off Newbold on Avon in a promotion play-off almost one year ago.

Although they finish rock bottom and suffer relegation, it’s a great way for Spalding’s young side to finish the season.

See www.spaldingvoice.co.uk for a full report early next week.
