Spalding pub to close before Christmas

The Birds pub in Spalding will close next month.

The pub – which is run by Greene King company Hungry Horse – will cease trading on December 9.

Currently, the pub’s website is still taking bookings for Christmas dinner. On Wednesday, a member of staff said the company’s financial team will reimburse any payments already made for bookings.

A spokesman for Hungry Horse said: “From time to time we have to make the difficult decision to sell a pub and this is the case with the Birds.

“It will close on December 9 with new owners taking possession of the property on December 12.

“Where possible employees will be relocated to other pubs within the area.”
